CIRCUS MAXIMUS: 130 DISCOVERY COINS
130 ancient coins have reemerged under 50 inches of soil in the largest and most famous Roman stadium, the Circus Maximus.
Since last December, the monument is affected by the excavation of Maria Letizia Buonfiglio, John Caruso and other archaeologists of the City Superintendent. The interventions are 'rediscovering' finds buried immediately after the excavations of 1930, when archaeologists stopped for the 'Media auditorium "due to the infiltration of water that invaded stands and the runway where the chariots raced.
excavations continue today in south bend to unravel the mysteries of the Circus Maximus that will, hopefully, an archaeological site for visitors and tourists and not just a place for trade shows, sports and singing.
