ROME: and the foundation of an amphitheater!

were brought to light the foundations of an amphitheater reminiscent of the Colosseum, in the Port of Trajan at Ostia, on the Roman coast. 42 meters long and 38 wide, and 'more' small of the Flavian Amphitheatre, the symbol of Rome. The hypothesis of scholars and 'to support the perimeter walls of the stands were at least 10 meters high. The discovery and 'took place in a three-year excavation campaign conducted with the British School at Rome, the University' of Cambridge and Southampton.
